Lots of people have quoted my note regarding the killing of pregnant women. As far as I know, they've all linked back to me. But none of them have asked me. I don't mind, but I would still like to be asked permission before posting my stuff somewhere else. That way I can also keep tabs on it.
ps - if you know of any more, please let me know.

Have you claimed your blog on technorati.com? If you do, you can easily see who has linked to you.
Yeah I have, but I'm on so many blogrolls that I never know when a new one is added specifically to me.
Lately I have noticed that technorati is not doing a very good job at updating who is linking to me, so I'm not sure that is the solution, either. I think that people automatically assume that it is OK to link to someone or quote them unless there is a disclaimer saying that they should seek permission first, so you might want to add that to your template.
I'm actually jealous because I also wrote this topic at BlogHer (before I knew you did, or I would have quoted you...) and no one commented on it at all!
I read yours. It was ok that you didn't quote me, because like I said so many other people did. Some people DID ask, but I had to find others through sitemeter.
It's never come up before, so I didn't have the "quote me" permission thing up.
You should go to Creative Commons
http://creativecommons.org/
and get yourself a Creative Commons License. You click on "License Your Work" and it will take you through a few simple steps. At the end you get a lovely little widget to post that tells people what they can and cannot do with the information posted on your site. The license uses current United States Copyright law and since your work in legally copyrighted, this notifies other people how you wish the "fair use" standard to be applied to your work. Mine is set up so that people can quote my material but they are not allowed to change it or use it for commercial purposes.
Have you checked copyscape.com? I've found some of my stuff that way. Give it a go...
Nice letter. I hope Craig didn't get too upset.
