It was a good, productive day. I didn't have to work, which even after only 4 days, I know is a fun thing. Instead I cheated on my current job and interviewed for another.
I walked in the (empty) store and introduced myself. My 2 interviewers thanked me for showing up. I was like, uh yeah. But apparently they had 3 people yesterday and 2 people today not show up for their interviews. Or even call. So, I was "already ahead of the game" just by coming when I said I would. Score. I didn't realize that not showing up to a job interview was an option. When the interview began, we were chatting and laughing like old friends. Once in a while she'd ask a question like "tell me about how you deal with angry customers" sorta thing, but other than that it didn't feel like an interview. Then the people switched and I talked to the dude who would be my store manager (it's a new store, so it's not open yet). He didn't want to "bore me" so we chatted for only a coupla minutes and I was on my merry way.
Total interview time: 51 minutes. Send good vibes, though it seems to have gone well in itself.
Then I met up with Suzanne for dinner at what else? A restaurant that serves exclusively mac & cheese. I did not eat all of my dinner even though the only things I've eaten all day were a yogurt and a bowl of cereal. (I did that "forgetting to eat" thing again today for some reason.) But a girl can only take so many thousands of calories of cheese. Then as we perused bargain stores (that sell Cartier watches, apparently) my heart stopped as I saw a familiar logo on an orange & yellow bag. I think Suze heard something like "ohmygodtheyselljellybellycandycorn" in a high pitched voice as I ran to the counter, picked up a bag, and hugged it to my face. I made my purchase and ate my oh so yummy candy corn. And I'm still eating it.
1. Possible new job
2. Good friend time
3. Jelly Belly candy corn!
What a frickin sweet day.
ps - the candy corn is such a big deal because a) I love candy corn & JB is the only one that doesn't have vegetarian unfriendly gelatin in it, b) I haven't been able to find it out here since I can't go to my fave place in the world, the JB factory, and c) it's oh so yummy. Oh, and d) if I try ordering the candy via the i-net, I pay $6 shipping on a $2 bag of candy. That sucks. Here, I paid $5, a net gain for des.

And CANDY CORN JELLY BELLIES? WANT!
Way to go Des! I'm happy someone had a nice day.
Sending good vibes!
And that line about hugging the candy to your face was so vivid it made me laugh out loud.
sb, I know you can find some JB candy corn.
Thanks Arlene!
Jb, I really did hug the candy. You know I wouldn't lie about something so important.
So glad that I was there for that sweet moment.
Suze, it wouldn't have been as sweet if you weren't there!
Yay! Don't you love those kinds of days? I hope you get the job.
I heart Jelly Belly candy corn. Only want it about once a year, but then it's soooo good.
count, I seriously want it all year. It's made worse by the fact that I can only get it once a year.
