You know what? I love diners. I love diner food. I kinda feel like it makes me trashy, but then I love it even more. They don't even have to be kitschy or anything, I just want a damn grilled cheese or french toast and maybe a milkshake.
I should have realized it before, when I was always the one going "hey let's go to a diner!" and unless it was 3am, always voted down. Sure, I dig a good Japanese restaurant or Italian or Thai, but if I can't decide what specifically I want, I want a diner. I didn't realize it til last night when it once again hit me that I love my new 'hood and there is a diner around the corner! I can go there any time! A grilled cheese costs less than $4!
I don't have to be dressed up - my trusty brown sweatshirt and pink velcro tennis shoes will take me in and get me fed. Hell, if I want, I can go there in my pajamas! And you know I love going places in my pajamas.
I'm not really sure the point of this post other than to say, you guessed it, I love diners.

I like diners too. Cheap, greasy and delicious!
Yeah, you get it!
I love diners and diner type food, too. One of the great joys of my first job was the easy availability of grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch (without having to talk my dad into a diner visit). Also? How very eighties of you to go places in your jammies.
Well I haven't gone in my pajamas yet, but I know that I could, and that's what's important.
I like diners. I love a grilled cheese with fries and a milkshake. Or a root beer float. Or a vanilla coke (I prefer Pepsi, but it doesn't sound the same).
That's it! I'm throwing a diner party. (not a DINNER party)
I envy your diner. I don't know any good ones near me. Congrats on the new job by the way.
Well Pea, you can come visit me in a few months when it gets warmer, and I'll take a break from my new job to take you to my diner.
:)
I love diners. I'll go with you. I can't wait for your diner party.
I'm a huge fan of diners! Sadly we don't have any out here. That's why whenever I go to NYC I'm always want to eat at one.
My parents go to a diner about 3x a week. Meatloaf sandwiches, pork chops, mac n cheese, what have you.
I love it too, even though the food is dang bland.
Alex, I can't believe there are non by you.
And Suebob, you have to drop your foodiness upon entering diners.
Yeah, I'm not one for fancy restaurants. I like a place that is "sweat shirt friendly".
