Why I killed the cable guy

Right now I am using C's laptop on an unsecured wireless connection. You'll notice there has been no update of the move. This is because I have had no internet.

The cable guy was supposed to come today "between 12-4." You know, when I would already be here with the movers and whatever. It is now 6:15 and there is no cable to be seen.

4pm call to the cable company: "he's running late, give him 1/2 an hour then call back."

5pm call to the cable company: "he'll be there at 6, we swear. But we won't charge you any service charges."

Do I dare attempt a 6:30 call?

Can I get free internet out of this? Probably not. And there's no way I can say "screw it, I'll go to your competitor." There is no competitor. Damn you, monopoly!

Uh oh. I hate that. I skimmed down so I could catch up real quick and I just wanted to add that Craig is cute. But you probably already knew that....

I'm guessing you are back online since this post is up!

The "joys" of moving!

Ugh, I hate monopolies. I once swore that I would NEVER use AT&T again (and wrote them a letter to that effect), and then they bought out every other company I used to use! Bastards!

pea- I did know that :)

fm - I'm technically stealing someone else's internet right now. There are 40+ unsecured in this area!

cm - At & T clearly didn't want t lose you. I think Time Warner can do without me :)

Hope that he came. The one thing that amazed me when Dr. P moved to FL is that the cable guy came first thing in the morning, when he was supposed to. It was amazing. On the other hand, she has to live in Florida to get good service.

I was worried you may have gotten lost in the many boxes.

Frick! Now you've got me all worried about our hookup guys. I tried to schedule everything for the first full day we're there. Ack!

Good luck with the rest of everything!
