I got my hair did

When I asked my sister what color hair she wanted me to have for her wedding, she said "it's up to you... but tamer is probably better." Bah. Since the dress is red (see last blog) I decided on a pretty strawberry blond.

My hair would have been fine like it is normally, but there were a few missteps. My hair was a faded darkish red. I bleached it and was a pretty blonde. My plan was to use the dye I bought on clearance for $1.99. When I did this, it was much darker than I'd hoped, and it was spotty to boot. It was quite possibly the worst dye job I'd ever had, especially self-inflicted.

Good friend Kaitlyn was kind enough to use her hairstylist skillz to fix me, but I had to bleach it again for that. So in 2 weeks, I'd bleached it, dyed it, and bleached it again. My hair was, shall we say, trashed. It was like straw. When it was wet, you couldn't get a brush or comb through it. It was gross. I was tempted to cut it all off, but I think there may have been public outcry over that.

So, like I said, good friend Kaitlyn came over, and worked her magic. She brought me some Paul Mitchell magic repair stuff, and her cool bag o'tricks. In return I fed her tasty pasta... that I had nothing to do with making. (Thanks Jay!) She dyed my hair, I rinsed it, and she cut off much of the icky deadness - while still leaving it long enough to have pigtails. This morning, I used all 3 steps of the treatment, and this is what happened:

I am rather fond of it. It's all pretty and smooth (there are a few flyaways, but that's because there was no product in it) and will make me the belle of the ball - behind my sister, I mean.
So, thank you Kaitlyn!!!!

I love it. Very flattering. And there are just endless makeup options you could do with that hair color.....not that you need it.

awwww
It is actually kinda close to my natural color, so I guess it *should* look ok...
