more on the job goodiness

Who likes working in a high end boutique that sells travel stuff?
I do!

Yesterday the co-owner of the company was in to meet me and another guy, and see how the new store is doing. Well, I just happened to be in a great mood for some reason (must be all the hot chocolate) and since there was a pretty steady influx of customers (something about the biggest shopping day of the year?), I got to des shine. I was my normal wonderful magical self, what with the energy and animation and the I know, right? and the old-friend-customer physical contact and the selling of expensive luggage. So a little bird (read: the store manager) told me that this head honcho guy, who never likes anybody new, absolutely loved me. Yeah that's right. I can impress important people without even trying.

Then today it ... wasn't as busy. But when it was, I was in there chatting up the customers and convincing them to buy things (no expensive luggage today though). Then it would be dead and my coworkers and I would hang, but be much less animated. I really enjoy their company, so hanging is still cool, but I'm just not Shiny Happy des. Then a customer walks in, I gage if they're actually gonna buy anything, and I flip the switch again.

I'm a Gemini. I'm two-faced like that.
But you know what? I'm having fun, dammit.

It's one of those things I took for granted. Never again.

That's so cool. And funny because I am reading it and thinking, "Wow, I would totally suck at selling people expensive luggage and how super awesome is it that Des found her niche?" Hurray for you! Liking a job makes all the difference.

Oh, and - of course honcho guy loved you! Only idiots like at your last job would not appreciate what you bring.

I'd be happier if I didn't *have* to work, but this is ok
