I don't know what this is

I saw him on the train, when he sat next to me. I didn't like the look of him. Was he drunk?
He sat near me. I continued reading. When we got off the train at the same stop, I couldn't help but think he was following me.
I stuck with the crowd, relatively large for this time of night. Slowly members dropped off.
I kept an eye on him, watching as he crossed the street. I must remember to be aware of all my surroundings, not just focus on him.
I fell in line behind a woman. I felt safe with her.
She stopped to adjust her shoe. That's my move. I use it to check out who's following me.
I felt like waiting for her, but knew that would be wrong. So I kept walking.
Once in a while, a glance across the street until he was gone.
But there were others.
I counted down the blocks as I reached them and the number of deserted streets I had to cross.
Relief as I walked through the iron gate.
Dread as I turned my back to unlock the door.
A final deep breath as I re-locked it behind me.
Home.
Safe.

Omigosh Des. It must be creepy man week. Something similar happened to me while I was out shopping for picture frames. Your story is scarier though...I'm so glad nothing happened. I always joke with my friends about "Psychoman". I'll say, don't forget to close your window and lock it because Psychoman is just waiting for the opportunity....or lock your door hon, Psychoman is everywhere. Aparrently, Psychoman takes the subway. You're good to always be aware of your surroundings.

It was just one of those times where I had a bad feeling for no particular reason...

No, this was not for no reason, your instinct is good. I am glad you are safe and that you listen to that little voice

Flutter, you're right. Of course.

I really believe in instinct. You did the right thing and it's important to know that you get scared for a reason!

I admit, this story is exaggerated a teence, but yes, instincts ARE there for a reason, and it's important to always remember that.

I believe in trusting your instinct. I'm sorry you had such a scare though.
