FLAG DAY !!!!!

I've been tagged by one of my myspace friends to do a bday thing. You all know how much I love my birthday, so of course I did it.

Instructions:
Go to wikipedia and look up your birthday (not year) and list the following:
3 events
2 births
1 death
1 holiday

Then tag people.

For anyone who isn't painfully aware, my birthday is June 14, Flag day. And it's coming up. (And yes, I cut and pasted directly from the wiki-source.)

Events:
1. 1648 - Margaret Jones is hanged in Boston for witchcraft in the first such execution for the Massachusetts colony.

2. 1789 - Whisky distilled from maize is first produced by American clergyman the Rev Elijah Craig. It is named Bourbon because Rev Craig lived in Bourbon County, Kentucky.

3. 1846 - Bear Flag Revolt begins - Anglo settlers in Sonoma, California, start a rebellion against Mexico and proclaim the California Republic.

4. 1938 - Action Comics issues the first Superman comic.

5. 1942 - Anne Frank begins to keep a diary.

Ok, that's more than 3, but lots of interesting stuff happened! (And I didn't even bother mentioning that in 1777 the Stars and Stripes was adopted by Congress as the Flag of the United States.)

Births
1. 1811 - Harriet Beecher Stowe, American author (d. 1896)

2. 1928 - Che Guevara, Argentine-born revolutionary (d. 1967)

Yay Revolutionaries!
Plus the ones I always brag about, 1946 - Donald Trump, American businessman, and 1961 - Boy George, British singer (Culture Club).

Death
1. 1986 - Jorge Luis Borges, Argentine writer (b. 1899)

Wah. One of my faves.

Holiday(s)
1. World Blood Donor Day [1] – Celebration of blood donation on the birthdate of Karl Landsteiner, who discovered ABO blood groups

2. International Weblogger's Day – Celebration of the work of webloggers around the world

3. And gee, uh, Flag Day (United States)

I've never given blood on my bday, but not because I'm selfish, It's just that needles and I don't get along.
I have blogged on my bday though!
Sweet.

As always, I tag everyone and no one. This is fun and interesting, so you should all do it.

Wow! Guevara and Borges all at once!

This looks like a fun one. I'll consider myself tagged and may, eventually, get around to doing it. I'm kinda notorious at ignoring tags... But this one really does seem cool!

This one's easy... it's not like you have to think of 40 interesting things about yourself...
