It seemed a little fast, but I had never driven with him before.
I was already holding the handle when the wheels started to slip and I closed my eyes.
Crash. Crash. Crash.
I remember 3 hits, though later evidence showed more.
"You were lucky" said the tow truck driver who'd had 5 DUIs.
But nobody was hurt, and nobody went to jail.

Yikes, Des. Glad you are ok.
Holy shit. April fools? Gawd, I hope you're okay. That must have been terrifying...
Thanks guys. It certainly reinforced my fear / hatred of going places via car. (but at least I wasn't driving!)
Des you're alive! Glad you're ok. You're back?
Oh great...I have to take a road trip in a couple weeks.
When I called my boyfriend from safely behind a cement guard (yes, in tears - it was scary!) he said "Well you are in California!"
Hopefully you do not have this experience because you won't be in CA (right?).
I'm glad you're okay and that you're back blogging!
Damn, I glad that you are OK. Welcome back to NYC! I hope to see you soon, assuming I ever make it back...
Well lucky for us, we won't have to do any driving to see each other. Even if I have to fly to Chi-town, because you're already in the airport. :)
Wow.
Glad you are ok, Des!
