finally!

It’s finally cold. No more of this 70-degree November crap. It’s December now, so that means that NYC has to get colder. Less than 40 degrees today. I know it will get colder, but this is a good step.

Today I went all out. Big fuzzy boots. Big fuzzy jacket. Big fuzzy hat (thanks to my crochet-magic friend). Mittens. I didn’t wear a scarf because I had a turtleneck, and with my backpack I felt like there was a midget trying to strangle me (to quote the late great Mitch Hedburg).

At home I have a full assortment of tea, hot chocolate, coffee, blankets, sweatshirts, central heat, a cat, slippers, a boyfriend, and anything else that might keep me warm. Home is no problem. Work is no longer a problem because I have peppermint tea, hot chocolate, and a tiny heater. I’m set. It’s the walking outside next to the windy windy east River that’s a problem. But that’s why I have all those exterior clothing items.

In other heat-related news, my gym is finally open. The gym I signed up for in July. It’s finally finished and open for business, as of yesterday. I have yet to go there, but I will go check it out this week and start my full-out-workouts this weekend. Hooray for that. However, I’ll have to invest in more exterior clothing items because I will burn off my insulating fat. It’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

I’ll write something more interesting later. I just haven’t had any adventures lately.

It feels so odd that it is cold after that extended summer/fall thing. I like it too. I can't believe it is Dec. already.
