fleeting

Near where I work there is construction on a new building. The building is tall and flat and covered with windows. I like to look at it because it reflects perfectly the clouds and the sun.

Around the building is a wire fence to keep out vagrants but not rats. Supported by the wire fence are blue planks to hide the construction from view. Someone has painted a white mural on the blue planks. It is full of flowers and doves and hearts. I saw the artist once. I wanted to talk to her but held back.

Construction is almost complete. There are more rats and less vagrants. The blue planks with the white mural have been removed, exposing the wire fence and the building behind it.

I never took a picture of it.
