Sometimes when I am feeling blah in the mornings, I like to spruce up my outfit a bit. Go glam. Bling Bling. Sparkle power. Let my inner drag queen emerge.
I'm not talking about big gaudy jewelry or even big gaudy shoes. Sparkly eye shadow. Big fat chunks of shiny silver debris littered on my eyes and spreading to the rest of my face. I can't quite see it without looking in a mirror, but I can see the reflections of light that it throws into my eyes. It makes it seem like there are little faeries or fireflies or irradiated dust specks flying around my head. That brightens my day.
Nobody ever asks me about the overabundance of glitter on my face. They might say "Oh, look at the glitter!" but they never say anything more. The lack of annoying comments also brightens my day. Then maybe I'll hear Journey's "Separate Ways" and have one of those experiences where I totally rock out to a song I hate. But I draw the line at Styx's "Lorelei." I will not rock out to that, no matter how much glitter.
So here's my dress on this gray, rainy day:
Black shoes, black pants, gray t-shirt, boring faded orange/yellow hair, and (Emiril Lagasse* style) BAM! Massive amounts of silver glitter.
* I know I spelled his name wrong, but guess what? I don't care. I've got my glitter to make me happy.

Yes I would like to get together and exchange a bracelet or two for cash. I'm moving this weekend across the courtyard to my very own two month sublet..hoping to be able to take over lease. Maybe next week? next weekend?
miss you
Now it's not just the glitter making me smile!
I do miss my Raver days where I could just go balls out with the glitter make-up. Now, I'd just look retarded. Damn growing up!
Oh, and you've been reviewed at Ask and Ye Shall Recieve.
The glitter is one thing I won't give up.
HA!
My word verification is GLITKY.
