oscar rant

to tell the truth, i don't care about the oscars. i haven't seen a single one of the nominated movies. i haven't even heard of some of them. but i am going to an oscar party. oscar parties involve two things, and i am more interested in the second one.
i am rooting for paul giamatti. and this isn't like when i was rooting for bill murray or johnny depp.they are all awesome, but paul actually deserves it. plus, he was that guy that got jilted when everyone involved with the movie got nominated except for him. think greg kinnear in "as good as it gets." and again, i never saw said movie ("sideways"). but i did see "american splendor" and anyone who can play harvey pekar deserves every award ever invented. i might even invent the "harvey pekar award" and give it to paul giamatti every year. of course, then i would also have to invent the "hunter s. thompson award" and give that to johnny depp every year. but other people have portrayed HST. namely, bill murray. and now we have come full circle on our discussion of the oscars.
