just because i'm super great and can do everyone else's jobs better than they can, doesn't mean i should. it's gotten to the point that people come to me to do everything for them, whether they are in my department or not. and it's not like i'm doing things they don't have access to. "des, can you fix this phone number? we have it listed wrong." yes, i can do it, but so can you. it's a very easy thing to do, and i have actual work to do. "can you call this customer for me?" no, because i'm really busy, and i don't deal with customers, and it's YOUR customer. i make no commission off of this phone call, and i hate you. "where did (boss' name here) go?" i don't know. surprisingly, people do leave their desks every once in a while, and they don't tell me where they're going.
now this might seem like a shock to all of you, but i want to do as little work as possible. my job (meaning the 3 separate jobs i took from people) is fine. i don't want to take everyone's job, because i still need lackeys to do the grunt work. i don't talk to customers. i don't do manual labor (though none of the shop guys ask me to do anything, to be fair). i don't answer phones. but i DO file papers, because i'm the only one in the world who knows the alphabet. but i am NOT anyone's babysitter. when i want to be a babysitter, i will do it out of love for my own babies. if i had to babysit these people constantly, someone would be killed. and i'm not the suicidal type.
also, i don't get paid enough to do everyone's work. when i start rakin in the dough, then we'll talk.
