one week

One week from today, I'll be on a plane to LAX airport. In California, I will get to see (almost) my entire family, and introduce them all at once to my dear Jay. In addition to that, Jay will be seeing the Pacific Ocean for the first time and I really want to show him around California... even though it's not quite my home turf.

There really isn't a set plan for the trip, other than something about my sister's wedding or something. So in my head I see long walks on the beach, shopping, and all sorts of fun things that happen on vacation. In reality, I'm sure it will be more like overwhelming family, stress, and craziness. We'll see how that goes.

On a related note, I "get" to go back to work when I come back from the wedding - at my old job. I'll be getting a lot more responsibility and more money. Hopefully that means I won't be bored stupid. However, I have decided to still hope for that other job. Stability is good when dealing with employment, and giant corporations that see a 7% rise in profits even though the economy sucks are good with stability. So I want that. But if I don't get that, it's good to know that I have something to fall back on.

So that's me in a nutshell. (Help! How did I get this in this nutshell?)

i often wonder how i got in this nutshell as well.
enjoy your time at the sibling's wedding (i'm kinda dreading mine when the little bro gets hitched next august) & take it in stride when you go back to the old job. hopefully you'll hear on the new one soon. you know your bosses/former bosses will understand.

Nutshell? not all that bad you could be two steps from the nut house. That would be cause for concern.

Glad to hear you are going back to work des.

Have fun in the wild wild west!

Everytime someone says California, I have to sing it....totally non-asked-for info, I know that. But I had to tell. I'm sure everyone will love your Jay and that he'll be impressed with the Pacific. Good luck with the job thing- old, new whatever, you're right. Any job is a blessing in this economy.

I missed that you were laid off (behind in the blog reading again), but am very glad that this worked out.
