It didn't seem real... because it wasn't me that came home from work to all my possessions lying on the grass, either broken or missing completely.
It wasn't me that found a note pinned to my door, saying my pets that were taken to a shelter because they had been "abandoned."
It wasn't me that suddenly found herself homeless.
But it was real, and I was the one helping out some friends. It was me that helped them pack their remaining items into a uhaul. It was me that gave them a place to stay for the night. It was me that witnessed this and was glad it wasn't me.

How horrible for them! I'm glad they had you for support.
That must be terrible. One of my worst fears is ending up homeless.
well, jane, there's only so much I can do for them, but I do waht I can.
:)
arlene, it was pretty awful, especially since it was a surprise.
How awful. I agree with Jane that they are lucky to have you help.
Yikes! How awful. Thank god whoever they are that they have friends like you...
oooof.
That's really awful! I'm so sorry for your friends.
The pets taken would have really done me in. I couldn't care less about my 'things' but don't touch my pets!! Your friends must be devastated. I hope things get patched up for them.
Out of their 3 pets, so far they only have 2 back. For some reason they only let them have 1 a day.
