cowboy day

On Saturday,I went to the Detroit Downtown Hoedown. It's not really my scene, but for free admittance* what the heck? Well there were a lot of people there. A lot. So, I did what I always do, and took pictures of trees. (As always, click on them to enlarge.)

See what I mean about the people? And in the 2nd one, you can see all the BBQ smoke. With all the people. One person followed us for a while talking to me about my tattoo. Then continued to follow us when we thought we were done talking. And then one of the guys from the Shell promo booth told Jay and I that are so cute that we should get our picture taken. We agreed we were cute, but alas and alack, no pictures of either Jay or I exist from the Hoedown.

But I did get a picture of the cool space age fountain:

And the cool lights for the fountain:

At one point I got separated from my friends when I stopped to take pictures of the Detroit River. Oh yeah, that's totally Canada.

Here's the Ambassador Bridge, which connects Detroit to Windsor, Ontario.

So yeah. I spent my "cowboy day" taking pictures of Canada. That's very cowboy, no?

* Free except for the $15 parking and $7 beers. What is this, am I back in NYC?

Canada is the new frontier. Or something. I think if I lived so close to Canada, I might run away to it. So tempting.

I'm going to at some point, but I still need some money. I should get a job in Canada.
