T-giving conversation with my mom

mom: so did you go to the Macy's parade?

me: No. Nonononononono. No. No. I don't go anywhere near that. I avoid it at all costs.

mom: Really? Huh. Well I heard while watching it on tv that there were around 3.5 million people there in person, just in that 2-mile stretch.

me: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Yeah. That's why I don't go anywhere near that.

Me too! I went one year and I felt completely overwhelmed. And cold, it was so damn cold.

waking up early to be surrounded by millions of people in the cold?

Ok. I'm convinced we're related. Convinced.

we want to avoid flutter meltdowns.

And pea, just because everything we think is exactly the same, I don't see what that has to do with it...

I live mere blocks from the parade. It is bad when people run by your ground floor window at 6 am on Thanksgiving - a day for sleeping in! - yelling at the top of their lungs and waking you up every damn year. (Except the one year when I was violently ill and practically fell into a coma and didn't hear a thing.) I HATE the parade. However, I love walking around the staging area on Wed. night and looking at all the inflated balloons tied down to the ground and then having hot chocolate. That is fun because significantly less people show up.
