An open letter to the girl on the J train in the blue jacket that was able to talk to the crazy deaf guy:

Dear girl on the J train in the blue jacket that was able to talk to the crazy deaf guy,

That was really cool of you. I watched in awe as you assessed the situation, realized the crazy guy was deaf but still trying to talk to people that didn’t want him there, and got up to do something about it. You spoke with him in sign language while the whole car watched in silence. You assured the lady that he was harassing that he only wanted to know where she lived. Then you went back to your seat and continued with your book. That was the best thing I’d seen in a while.

We got off at the same stop, and I accidentally hit you when I put on my backpack. I said I was sorry, but I wanted to tell you that you rock and I’m a little bit in love with you.

That was a few days ago, and since I don’t normally ride the train at that time, I don’t know if I’ll see you again to tell you how awesome you are.

Love,
des

I wonder if that girl knew she had super powers. I've always wanted to learn sign language.

Laura -welcome back! You've been missed!

Good job, my friend.

I think I'm going to do an open letter thanking someone via MY blog one of these days.

Is it OK if I steal your idea?
