don't bring me down

I’m in a good mood today. I went to the gym last night and I’m sore, but not to the point of complaint. I woke up at a good time this morning; not bright & early when the alarm went off, but I didn’t fall back asleep and wake up late like yesterday. It’s Friday. Tomorrow when I’m not at work, I get to go have fun.

But the day keeps trying to bring me down:

1. The online radio is broken, so I work in silence (not counting the noise from other people’s cubicles).

2. The receptionist is being her usually bubbly self and arguing with me about everything. More than usual. And changing her story mid-argument:
I’ve never done that before.
No, you just did it, and here’s the proof in my hand.
I just did that.
I know, and you did it wrong.
I didn’t do that.

3. I somehow have a bruise on the back of one hand and a scrape on the other. I don’t remember getting them, but they both hurt.

4. I’m wearing a loose-fitting shirt and someone asked if it was because I am pregnant. Nevermind the tight long-sleeved shirt underneath it. And, no. I’m not pregnant.

There are more things, but I’m choosing not to dwell on them. Or, I can’t remember them. But the universe is still against me. Why can’t I just have a non-cranky day for once?
**UPDATE**
The radio started working right after I posted this. So I can now at least express my joy through dance. And lip synch.

Well I'm glad things ended well so you could be the happiest monkey in the whole monkey monkey..

I'm glad that you express your joy through dance and lip synch. Right there in the cube? The freezing one next to the window-wall? Cool.

H & B - you really get it. And way to combine 2 posts' comments.

cm - Dancing helps keep me warm. But I have to dance in my chair.
