Here is a complete list of all the food that was available for me to eat yesterday:
corn muffins, made with real corn
mixed green salad with goat cheese & caramelized walnuts, with raspberry vinagarette
homemade bread
butternut squash soup with pistachio cream
mac & cheese - the homemade kind with bread crumbs and a baked on crust
yams
broccoli & carrots
cranberry sauce
mashed potatoes
mushroom - cranberry stuffing
tofurky
tofurkey gravy
regular turkey
regular gravy
strawberry cheesecake
pumpkin cake
chocolate cake
ice cream cake
a 10-pound chocolate turkey
various wines, juices, and sodas
coffee and tea
I think I listed everything, but after a point, I was just eating everything and not bothering to find out who made it or what it was. Everything was yum-diddly-umptious and I extend my thanks to everyone that cooked and allowed us to show up.
It was a nice time because we were at Suzanne's house, as were a nice mix of family and friends. Everyone from her surprise sister flown in from Iowa to her brother in law's fionce's parents. At one point there was a half naked 3-year old. He was at the "other" table, so we didn't really know what was going on , nor with the sister under the table. Their table may have been full of weirdos, but we had the food first.
We discovered the J/Q/2 train route was much quicker than the J/F/B (or C) route. This is good news for future ventures to the Upper West Side.
The cheesecake was a big hit, but there were still plenty of leftovers. We took the one with the small portion left and forced Suzanne to take the remaining whole one. Though she fought and scratched the whole time, eventually she took the pie and a bottle of pomegranate juice. Serves her right, for hosting Thanksgiving and the night before (to look at the balloons being inflated) and buying all sorts of things to make my life a little better.
The chocolate turkey was first beheaded, then the equivalent of smashed with a hammer. We all have plastic bags full of chocolate turkey bits now. That was hilarious in a way very reminiscent of ancient triumphs over chocolate turkeys.
As my dad likes to say, it was a day of eating too much, wishing you hadn't eaten so much, then eating a little more. That was definitely me (and everyone else there) yesterday. But that is something impossible to avoid doing with all the yummy food. Plus, I got 4 days off work. Sweet.

I am officially very, very jealous.
eh, I just got lucky.
I am so so so glad that you had a good time. I worried about the people in the dining room and whether they were having fun. I wanted to be there with you, too.
I personally ate half of the remaining cheesecake already. (Oooof. So full. Two pieces tonight...) In case that is not enough evidence, I find it utterly scrumptious.
Our cheesecake is long gone, and we are working through the turkey. I guess we should have taken 2 bags, but at the time, I never wanted to see food again.
