sleep-versation

Last night I was tired. I went to sleep around 10. My friend called at 11, on the cell phone which I keep near my bed as an alarm clock. I tried in vain, repeatedly, to turn off what I thought was the alarm, by opening and closing the phone. Only when The Boyfriend came in and said "who's calling you?" did I realize that someone was calling me and it wasn't the alarm telling me to go to work.

I didn't answer the phone, but I did listen to the message. In my sleep-deprived state I thought for some reason having a message would make the alarm not work. I'm not willing to test that theory. The only thing I remember about the message is that my friend won't be coming to Triple Bday Dinner on saturday, but might make it to the bar afterwards. That's fine, I thought. Now only 7 hours til I have to wake up.

I can so relate. Ha ha ha. Ever have the radio go off and instead of waking up, you just have somenice background music in your dream? This is why I only use the obnoxious loud buzzer. Too many late mornings.
