I wasn't going to write a blog today. I was dried out. Washed up. Dry-cleaned, if you will.
That was until I got cold.
See, I got cold because the window was open. So I endeavored to close said window. Then I suffered the worst pain I've felt in 2 years. No, stupid, I didn't slam the window on my finger. My finger grew a brain of its own (albeit not a very big one) and tried to rush through the window to sweet sweet freedom. Fortunately (?) my newly brained finger did not make it through the glass, and subsequently through the screen and metal bars on the other side. No, my soon to be debrained finger stopped dead in it's tracks, shattering my fingernail and causing more than a few curse words to be uttered. Fine, shouted.
I looked down at my recently deformed finger. It was ugly, and not just because the shattered fingernail had lost it's pretty green paint job. The finger was bent and maybe a little more discolored than normal. But still doing the stupid finger thing of not moving and hurting a whole heck of a lot, but not being broken. Not that anything could be done about it. Speaking in terms of time and money, a hospital trip would be very expensive, especially when I know they would just put a splint on it. ("Splint" being a fancy word for 2 popsicle sticks and some duct tape.) I have neither popsicles - and their resulting sticks - nor duct tape. All seems lost.
For now, I will just learn to type sans right-middle-finger, repaint the shattered nail (it looks a little better, I swear!) and cry myself to sleep. Well, maybe a quick trip to the popsicle store. You know, to feel better. And to make me less cold?

Shit, Des, I'm sorry. That stinks.
So you know for sure it's not broken, cause you can't make bracelets with it like that.
Haaa, but seriously, they heal crooked and creepy looking if they're left to their own devices.
As a matter of fact GR, it did set my bracelet-making back a bit, which is maddening because I should have finished it last night.
It hurts less today, but is functioning.
